Euro RSCG EDGE E-mail Policy Statement
Euro RSCG EDGE provides complete online direct marketing services-including content development, list management, site design, and informational services-to a wide range of commercial and non-commercial clients. For Euro RSCG EDGE to effectively serve these clients, it must provide informational and promotional content that is both useful AND desired by YOU, our clients' customers.
As an Internet marketing consultancy with expertise in online marketing, we regularly design, write, and send electronic mail to our clients' customers. We are well aware of the controversy over "bulk" e-mail, and you can be assured that we don't appreciate unsolicited bulk e-mail (also known as "spam") any more than you. Therefore, to keep both you and our clients happy, we REFUSE to send anything we know you don't want. We also refuse to send e-mail messages to random addresses, no matter who the client.
Our e-mail lists always come from our clients, at least at the start of an engagement. We require clients to certify that the people on their lists have, in some manner, given their consent to receive e-mail messages from that client. Euro RSCG EDGE has no way to verify compliance, but if we discover that this requirement has not been met for a particular list, we will not utilize that list and will work hard to educate the client about the need for customer consent.
Once Euro RSCG EDGE begins management of an e-mail list, we make the following guarantees:
- We will NEVER sell, trade, give away, or in any other way disseminate personal information about you, including your e-mail address. We will NEVER transfer your information from one client list to a different client list.
Further, this guarantee will be honored not only for what was given to us by our clients, but also for information we obtain from you through Web sites that we manage for our clients. Please note, however, that information you give to us via a client's Web site MAY go to that client and would thereafter be subject to that client's privacy policy.
- We ALWAYS try to honor an 'unsubscribe' request. Once we receive your unsubscribe request in a form that our computers can understand, you're out. Period. We won't come back later and ask, "Are you sure?" (And we will NOT sell your unsubscribed e-mail address the way spammers do!)
- The unsubscribe process is automated. It's "brainless," so you do need to follow directions. We try to keep the unsubscribe process simple, but in spite of all efforts and best intentions, things can-and sometimes do-go wrong.
If you unsubscribed from one of our lists and still received another e-mail from it, send an e-mail to postmaster@intercontent.com describing the problem. This WILL get you to an actual human being with the authority and knowledge to fix the situation, and the problem WILL BE resolved.
- We keep separate e-mail lists for each of our clients. If your name appears on multiple client lists, a request to delete your name and address from one list will NOT automatically remove your name from other list(s), since each list operates independently.
- In order to protect your computer from "viruses" and ensure the privacy and safety of your data, our e-mails will NOT contain executable code UNLESS all of the following conditions have been met in advance:
- The organization responsible for that code is fully and accurately disclosed to you.
- You have explicitly requested the e-mail containing such code.
- You have been made aware of the effects of running that code.
- The e-mail you receive allows you to prevent the execution of such code even after the message has been opened.
- Euro RSCG EDGE favors the "double opt-in" approach to collecting e-mail addresses. Some of our clients may not want that policy imposed on their lists after the participant sign-up process is complete. However, it IS our policy to let our clients know that "double opt-in" is good business, and that we are working toward implementing "double opt-in" for all e-mail we send.
- Our clients, of course, may use other e-mail vendors in addition to, or instead of Euro RSCG EDGE. Annoyingly, not all e-mail vendors care to whom they send e-mail. We do not like spam and do not wish to be associated with it. Therefore we do not allow third-party e-mails for our clients to pull content from our servers, and we welcome reports of such abuse. We DO make an exception, allowing clickable links in third-party e-mails to web pages which we serve for our clients because it leaves the choice to download with you.
